Police Equipment was returned by Colonel Carrion after his Discharge
On the premises of the Police Headquarters in Quito, Colonel Cesar Carrion Moreno handed the gun crew and equipment before being discharged last 10 February.
Carrion arrived, accompanied by family and friends, who shouted slogans against the General Council that issued the controversial measure.
And his voice cracking and eyes moistened continued: “I brought my uniform with dignity and honor; I have served my fellow citizens with all their heart.”
Carrion was acquitted on three courts, including the National Court of Justice of an alleged assassination against President Rafael Correa on September 30, 2010.
At the foot of the headquarters building, Carrion said: “As my low ratified by the General Council, I give my gun crew and equipment (body armor and 50 rounds 9 mm) to the institution that served with ethics and commitment to the community for over 30 years (…) I am disappointed by this unjust low. I will fight for my family, my children, Denise and Andrew, for my wife, I thank the honorable people of my country, my friends, and the media covering this difficult process.”
