President Correa offers assistance to migrants
Posted On 18 May 2015
During his weekly address Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa condemned the refusal of Asian countries to receive in their ports migrants who remain in ships adrift on the high seas.
“Not allowing the immigrants ship to dock at any port, leaving hundreds of people, children, women, starving offshore. What a shame!,” said Correa, and added “Our rejection to these atrocities.”
The president mentioned that he is willing to provide assistance to migrants, like bringing them food, etc. and along with the CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean Stated), receiving these people to alleviate the tragedy they are suffering.
