President Moreno and Sonnenholzner met for the first time

The President of the Republic, Lenin Moreno, and the Vice President, elected by the Assembly on December 11, Otto Sonnenholzner, met on Tuesday December 18 at the Government Palace. 

Confirmation of the appointment of the Second President occurred when Moreno was on an official visit to China, where he went to obtain financial assistance. 

Meanwhile, the Vice President devoted himself to organizing his office, waiting to meet with the President, who will determine the functions he will perform during the next 2 years. 

The Secretary of the Presidency, Juan Sebastián Roldán, said on Tuesday December 18 that the meeting between the Head of State and the Vice President took place privately. 

For this Wednesday, December 19, Moreno’s statement about the work that Sonnenholzner will be responsible for is envisaged. The Vice President, who is 35 years old, does not work in any political party. (I)
