Presidents of Ecuador and Peru Will Have a Meeting in Loja

Posted On 18 Oct 2010

AFP, Quito – In a meeting called the IV Binational Cabinet, President Alan Garcia from Perú and President Rafael Correa from Ecuador will meet along with Ministers from both countries on October 26th in Loja. Loja is a city at the South of Ecuador which is in the border of Ecuador and Peru.

The objective of the meeting is to analyze the cooperation between both countries in several topics like security, investment and development, the Foreign Ministry informed today. In addition, they will develop plans to ease transit between the borders of both countries.

According to AFP, one of the top priorities of both countries is to “generate more development in the projects that benefit the population” in the borders. “The main objective of the meeting is to deepen the Binational integration and to continue with the development and the consolidation of the Peace Agreements made in Brazil” in 1998.

There will be dialogues in order to improve “mutual trust in topics such as national security and defense”. The Ministers of both countries met in Lima back in June 4th.
