Presidents of the World speak out about the situation in Ecuador
On the morning of January 10, 2024, President Daniel Noboa held a meeting with members of the diplomatic corps. At the meeting, international support for the country was ratified after the latest events.
“We have taken measures that past governments did not have the decision to do (…) We are living in a state of war against terrorism,” said Noboa.
But the support of the international community for Ecuador was also shown on social networks.
The head of US diplomacy for Latin America, Brian Nichols, was concerned about the situation in Ecuador. He offered assistance in whatever the country needed.
The German Embassy in Ecuador also issued a statement on its official X account. In the publication they show their desire for the conflict to end without loss of life.
Mark van de Breken, Belgian ambassador to Ecuador, pointed out that what happened in the country is an attack on stability and democracy.
The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, also used his X account to show himself open to any collaboration requested by Ecuador.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, also issued a message about what happened in the national territory. He did it in the middle of his daily conversation with the media.
