Private insurances shall pay for the IESS care

A compensation for both sides. This is what the government expects in the relationship between public and private insurance providers. The president made some remarks to the bill for prepaid health, adopted by the Assembly in August.
The legislature had established a reimbursement by prepaid health and insurance companies to private hospitals. This would be effective when a patient (holder of a private insurance) is sent from a public health center to a private one.
The president says in his partial veto, that it is “necessary to extend this refund obligation.” Then, private insurance companies shall pay or reimburse public institutions medical care expenses of people who are holders of private insurances or prepaid medical plans up to the amount of the contract.
And he confirms that in cases of referrals or direct treatment in public hospitals, the Ministry of Finance or the IESS will assume the costs.
