Prosecution Commission Concludes Investigation on COFIEC Case
The Prosecution Commission of the Assembly will give the Administrative Council of the Legislature (CAL for its Spanish acronym) a report that would determine the political responsibility of public officials that gave the credit to Gaston Duzac.
The institution left at the hands of the Prosecution and the judges that impose the legal sanction against those involved in the case, which would extend to former officials and the current officials of COFIEC Bank along with regular citizens that intervened in the bank operation.
Among the conclusions that the Commission obtained, was that there were no guarantees when the credit was given to Duzac. The president of the Prosecution Commission, Silvia Salgado (socialist) pointed out that “the credit arrived a foreign account of the Scanbuy Company. The credit was deposited in checking account of Duzac, who afterwards requested the transfer of the funds.”
Meanwhile the Assemblymen Galo Lara (SP) denounced that Francisco Endara and Antonio Bunay have already left the country. On the other hand Pedro Delgado has not been called to give his testimony about the financial operation. AV
