Italian prosecutors asked on Monday that a court condemns the former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to three years and eight months in prison. The charges would be for fraud in relation with the emission rights of his television company ‘Mediaset’.
The prosecutors would request the Court of Milan a prison sentence of three years and four months for the current Mediaset president, Fedele Confalonieri.
Berlusconi and other executives of Mediaset are being accused of increasing the paid price after acquiring the television rights through foreign companies controlled by Berlusconi. So far Berlusconi and the accused in the trial refuse the accusations. (AV)
