Protests in Venezuela leave three people dead
During the clashes of yesterday between government supporters and opponents of President Nicolas Maduro, three people died, dozens were injured and 30 were arrested.
Luisa Ortega Díaz, Venezuela’s attorney general, confirmed the death of two people after receiving bullet impacts during the demonstrations that occurred on Wednesday in the country. While the oppositor Ramón Muchacho, mayor of the capital municipality of Chacao, confirmed that the third victim died from a gunshot wound.
Regarding the facts, Maduro accused his opponents of wanting to overthrow him while the citizens protest for the high inflation and insecurity.
“There will be no coup in Venezuela, be absolutely sure about it. Democracy will continue, the revolution will continue,” Maduro said.
In recent weeks, led by the radical opposition, control groups have taken the streets to protest against the government of Maduro triggering violent clashes with security forces.
