Registration and Tuition Payments in Private Schools Will Increase
An increase that ranges between 2 and 20 dollars in registration and tuition payment of Guayas private schools was approved by the Board of Regulatory Costs for Private Education for the school term 2011-2012.
The new costs are given according to the educational options offered by the campus, the remuneration given to teachers and its location, Juan Carlos Rodriguez , provincial director of Education, said yesterday.
It also takes into account the technology that students have access and the taxes that the applicant school pays.
Regarding state schools, Rodriguez recalled that parents will not pay “a dime” for the education of their children. Contributions are prohibited, said Rodriguez.
He insisted that some schools will even keep last year tuition payments, because after reviewing their situation, it was evident that they have found no evidence for an increase. However, their managers can appeal and go through the application once again.
School supervisors will visit schools to see if the directors apply the disposal.” Otherwise they would be punished,” he said.
