Ruling party gains control in assembly

The Ecuadorian ruling party retains control in the Legislative Council of Administration (CAL), after the reelection of Fernando Cordero as President of the Assembly and the allocation of the vice presidents which also belong to the government party.

Yesterday at 6:30pm the voting for the election of the vice presidents started. The ruling party managed to place in these positions to Juan Carlos Cassinelli (PAIS assemblyman) and Rocío Valarezo, independent Assemblywoman and now allied with PAIS. (BG)
