Seism in Peru left 70 Wounded
A strong quake of 6,2 in the Richter scale shook the south region of Ica, Peru. The event left more than 70 wounded and several homes destroyed, the local inhabitants were panic due to natural phenomena.
According to the National Institute of Civil Defence the number of wound could reach 90. The wounded suffered multiple fractures, concussions and cuts as a consequence of the falls they suffered while abandoning their homes.
The seism caused several blackouts and knocked phone lines in Ica, recently the service is slowly starting to return. According to Erin Gomez, technical secretary of the Civil Defence of Ica, at least 10 homes are useless. The quake forced the people of Ica, Pisco and cities of Palpa, Nasca and Cañete to sleep in parks. (AV)
