Senescyt offers five technologic careers for media workers
The Secretariat for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt), designed five profiles of technologic careersfor the delivery of labor certifications for media workers. These will be taught starting from this year and are related to audiovisual, animation and multimedia, photography and sound areas.
According to Maria del Pilar Troya, Deputy Minister of Senescyt, these will be implemented in seven provinces and to assist to theclassrooms, workers shall take the National Exam for Higher Education (ENES for its Spanish acronym) in September, and the leveling courses will begin in March 2015.
“The technologies will be offered in dual mode; that is, a part in the classroom and other in the training companies,” said Troya.
The official accompanied the President of the Regulation Council (Cordicom) Patricio Barriga, and Minister for Industrial Relations Carlos Marx Carrasco, in the presentation of the certification of labor skills for those who give support injournalistic tasks in two of six profiles : radio and television; and those involved in television technical production, as cameramen, stagehands and props.
According to the Cordicom, 5,000 workers are interested in professionalizing, but in the first phase, only 3,158 will obtain their labor certification in the two profiles.
