Several provinces celebrates the validity of the Ecuadorian political division
Today several provinces of Ecuador, like Manabi, Chimborazo, Pichincha, Imbabura, and Loja celebrated its anniversary, and also 32 cities evoke its cantonization, under the law of territorial Division issued on June 25, 1824.
Because of this, the Manabí Provincial Government has organized throughout the month of June a series of activities, known as the ‘manabitismo’ month, that have been carried out in the cantons, as art caravans, school activities, performances of musical bands and youth artists, and tourist and gastronomic festivals.
For his part, yesterday in Machala around 38 schools participated in the student civic parade which was held for the anniversary 189 of the cantonization of the city.
The tribute began at 09:30 and was chaired by the band of the Infantry Brigade of El Oro, local authorities and the Ministry of Education.
Machala school led the parade, and the delegations were formed by the standard bearers and escorts, as well as authorities, the Queen, the teaching and administrative staff and a group of students.
Parades, solemn sessions and popular art festivals dominated the celebrations in other cities and provinces, with the participation of authorities, public and private institutions and students.
