Social Security for bus drivers: next government proposal
Social Security for bus drivers, that is the proposal of the ruling party for this strategic sector, which could be compared to an army for its size.
This was announced by the PAIS Alliance legislator and member of the Commision on Legislative Administration Fausto Cayambe.
This proposal is dedicated to the 300,000 bus drivers, who are part of the economically active population, but who are not affiliated to Social Security. A collective of 4,000,000, including drivers, self-employed, informal traders, artists, cultural managers, and sex workers.
The project, to be submitted by year-end or early 2016, aims to provide drivers and other disregarded sectors three benefits: the old-age retirement pension or partial or total disability, unemployment funds and funeral expenses.
