Social Security Officials Must Pay a $ 7 Million Gloss
Posted On 19 Sep 2012
Thirteen officials of the Social Security Institute (IESS, for its Spanish acronym) were charged by the Government Financial Office, to pay a “solidarity” gloss of $ 7 million, due to irregularities in the pre-contractual and contractual processes for providing oncology equipment at three hospitals.
Among the impute officers and directors of the hospitals are members of the Technical Committee who participated in the process. Many were fined and removed from their positions.
The executives will have 30 days to appeal the decision of the Government Financial Office.
