SOTE reaches 5 billion barrels of crude oil transported
Ecuadornews:
The public company Petroecuador celebrates the 5 billion barrels of crude transported through the Transecuadorian Pipeline System (SOTE), whose operations began on June 26, 1972.
“There are 46 years of historical testimony, of the effort of Ecuadorian technicians, whose work has allowed incessant transport of black gold, “says a statement.
The SOTE transports the oil that is extracted in the eastern part of Ecuador to the Maritime Terminal of Balao (Esmeraldas), for its export and delivery to the three refining centers that the country has.
It has a transport capacity of 360 thousand barrels per day, through the 497.7 kilometers that extend through the three regions of the country, Amazon, Sierra and Costa. It has six pumping stations and four pressure reducing stations.
The importance of the Transecuadorian Pipeline System is that it transports the crude produced in 24 of the 30 productive hydrocarbon blocks of the Amazon Region, which represents 70% of the oil extracted in the country.
Authorities of the hydrocarbon sector verified the operations report. (I)
