Supercom will maximize control for broadcasting quotas of intercultural content in the media
A monitoring report of the Superintendency of Information and Communication (Supercom) determined that among 28 local media, in the provinces of Guayas and Santa Elena, there is widespread failure to broadcast 5% of intercultural content, requires by the Organic Law of Communication (LOC).
On Thursday, December 3, the Supercom submitted a report on local media in Zones 5 and 8, which includes the provinces of Galapagos, Los Rios, Bolivar, Guayas and Santa Elena.
The report, which aims to visualize the trends of fulfillment of the law, was submitted by Romel Jurado, director of the research.
The coauthor of the LOC said that although the broadcast of intercultural content is more favorable in other provinces, and in national media, the Supercom will intensify controls on the subject from January 2016.
