Survey reveals that 66% of Ecuadorians do not know who to vote for in elections in 2017 if Rafael Correa does not run for president

If President Rafael Correa does not run for president: does not participate in the elections of 2017, 66% of citizens of Quito and Guayaquil has not decided who to vote for, according to Perfiles de opinion.

In a survey of who would be the chosen candidate if Correa does not run for president:  44% said they did not know and 22% answered none, Paulina Recalde explained to daily Expreso.

Two names appear below: 20% would favor Lenin Moreno, and 9% Jorge Glas. Both are from the ranks of Alianza PAIS.

According to Recalde, the former Vice President (despite being outside the political environment) is above all current politicians. Even the measurement indicates he has more votes than Rafael Correa in a runoff against any of the candidates of the opposition.

She recognizes, however, that, unlike other years, the opposition has grown and become more visible. Hence other faces emerge.

Which? Recalde points out Guillermo Lasso, leader of the CREO political movement. “It has kept alive because it has been making political and public presence,” she said.

Others include the mayors of Quito and Guayaquil, Jaime Nebot and Mauricio Rodas, also the prefect of Azuay, Paul Carrasco. They are figures that were in their prak in the wake of the demonstrations this summer against the government.

The survey also lists Ramiro Gonzalez, president of Avanza, who is not identified with either the left or right.
