Syria Keeps Postponing Humanitarian Aid from UN
Posted On 01 Mar 2012
In the beginning Syria accepted the visit of Valerie Amos, the under secretary for Humanitarian Affairs of the UN, however no date has been set by both countries.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry made the announcement, after an official spokesman pointed out that Damascus is willing to cooperate with Amos. However, Amos surprised the country officials for arriving in an improper date.
Syria is prepared to continue with the meetings with Amos regarding an appropriate date so that both sides can organize a visit in Damascus. Meanwhile Amos waits in Jordan for a permit from the Syrian authorities to enter the country, however such permit is being postponed. (AV)
