Tababela’s Airport
In the first month of operation, the new airport Mariscal Sucre in Tababela has received 330.000 passengers and performed more than 5.000 operations. This number corresponds to an estimated cut until yesterday afternoon and today is expected the total.
Freddy Egüez, general manager of the Public Company Metropolitan Airport Services, said the assessment is positive. He explained that until the machines are tested there are certain details that are has to be corrected.
On Monday, 120 new chairs arrive and were placed for the comfort of passengers. Also will be installed more payment points so the parking lot doesn’t get congested when the cars exit, and also the administration seeks to strengthen the transfer of passengers to the aircraft.
As for food prices at the airport, other alternatives are being considered, since there is no price control because of free supply and demand. New stores have installed inside the airport and candy prices are still high. According to sellers, prices are high because they have to cover the costs of leasing the store.
There is also expected on August to be ready a food court with a cuisine offer of national brands and national prices.
