Terrorist Attack at Moscow Airport
Today, at 9:24 am, a blast was reported inside the airport Domodedovo, in Moscow. After the explosion at the Domodedovo airport, the air traffic is being redirected to other airports, either Sheremetyevo or Vnukovo, informed the Russian media.
The explosion left 31 people dead and 130 injured; the Russian government and the Health Ministry confirmed the death toll. The Russia’s Investigative Committee (RIA) submitted the report to the Novosti news agency, and it is believed that terrorists are responsible for the attack. The explosion occurred at 4:40 pm in the baggage claiming area.
In televised remarks, the Russian leader, Dmitry A. Medvedev stated: “At Domodedovo an explosion has occurred, and according to preliminary information it was a terrorist attack. There are dead and there are wounded.”
The Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called an emergency meeting at the Kremlin to discuss the event with his security chiefs and to establish an especial security regime. This airport is located 14 miles southeast of Moscow.
