The limited availability of water and food begin to be felt 2 days after the earthquake among the people of Pedernales (Manabi), one of the most affected cities by the 7,8M magnitude earthquake.
Since yesterday morning, trucks, trailers, vans, private cars, and institutions cars arrived with humanitarian aid. Some went to the improvised collection center at the main stadium of Pedernales; others, handed over the donations directly on the streets.
“People did not let us or come in to Pedernales with the water we brought. They begged us to give it to them because they no longer had anything to drink,” said Nelly Vargas, who brought clothes and water from El Carmen.
