The Big Winners of the Golden Globes
The Golden Globes, the prelude to the Oscars, took place last Sunday January 15 in Los Angeles to recognize the excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign.
The French silent, black and white film “The Artist” (with six nominations), was the most awarded of the night with three awards, while the family drama “The Descendants” got two awards.
Michelle Williams took the award for Best Comedy Actress for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in “My Week with Marilyn.” Meanwhile, Gearge Clooney beat Leonardo DiCaprio (J. Edgar), Michael Fassbender (Shame) Ryan Gosling (The Ides of March), and Brad Pitt (Moneyball).
On the other hand Martin Scorsese won Best Director for “Hugo” while Woody Allen won recognition for his screenplay of “Midnight in Paris”.
