Ecuadornews:
The automotive industry assembles a better future. The Ministerial Agreement of the Ministry of Industry and Production (MIPRO) is based on three pillars to fulfill the commitment of adopting more local components in manufacturing processes to pay fewer tariffs for imported parts and pieces (CKD).
The draft agreement, which still awaits the signature of Minister Eva Garcia, proposes a gradual adoption of parts and pieces. The goal is to increase the minimum adoption rate, which in three years should reach 19%. A program was planned to help identify the supply of local components that are manufactured locally. As a final point, there is a talk of the commitment to respect the integration plans of the assembly projects that have been approved. (I)
