The CNE convened the Armed Forces to talk about the chain of electoral custody

On the same day that the National Electoral Council (CNE) proclaimed the official results for President and Vice-President, former Army Commander General Luis Castro Ayala stated that the chain of electoral custody had not been fully respected.

Although for the electoral authority the chapter of the first round is almost closed, the controversy over alleged irregularities in the process gained momentum. Therefore, Juan Pablo Pozo, head of the Council, announced that he will ask for today, March 8, a meeting with the high command of the Armed Forces.

Although Pozo rejected yesterday all the doubts that arose on the matter, Sebastián Cevallos, deputy director of Unidad Popular, confirmed that they prepare a public denunciation to the Public Prosecutor on the subject of the chain of custody. And Diego Salgado, legislator of the Creo party, called for the appearance of Ricardo Patiño, minister of Defense, and of General Castro to the Commission of Sovereignty of the Assembly.
