The eruption process of the Tungurahua Volcano continues

Tungurahua Volcano
The Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School reported today that the Tungurahua volcano showed a slight increase in its seismic activity after the National Secretariat for Risk Management (SNGR) declared on Sunday an “orange alert”.
“Since the last time, the intensity and duration of the roars has increased,” said the institute through its website, which also indicated that due to the presence of high clouds in the volcano area it hasn’t been possible to make observations of the surface manifestations.
After the strong roar of Sunday morning, a lot of ash has fallen in several provinces near the volcano, affecting the population and agricultural areas.
The Tungurahua volcano of 5016 meters, started its eruptive process 1999, since then it has periods of intense activity interspersed with periods of relative calm, and along with the Reventador and the Sangay is one of the most active volcanoes in the country.
