The government invested $ 105.6 million in broadcasting and advertising
According to data from thePublic Procurement Service (SERCOP), the government allocated $ 386,000 daily to promote its image, or to disseminate activities and campaigns and defend its proposals during the period January-September 2015.
The institutions comprising the Executive Branch (Presidency, Vice Presidency, ministries, departments, boards of Equality, public companies, etc.) have allocated $ 105.6 million in 744 contracts awarded to advertising, dissemination, organization of events and communication services.
The figure corresponds to 90% of the total amount of $ 116.9 million awarded by the five functions of the state (Executive, Legislative, Judicial, Electoral and of Transparency), for a total of 856 contracts, published on the Sercop website and revised by El Universo newspaper.
In total, 129 institutions of the State are registered in the Sercop as contracting entities of advertising, from January to September 2015, a record that does not include the 221 autonomous governments (GAD for its Spanish acronym) of the country or their related bodies.
