The IESS will invest about $ 1 billion in the construction of hospitals this year

President of the Directing Council of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS) Richard Espinosa gave details on the situation of the social security in the country. He also spoke about the future hospitals in the country and the supply of medicines in the health network. Espinosa said that there is currently a 100% supply of medication in the country’s dispensaries.

He even said that there are drugs for various diseases, including catastrophic ones. The president of the IESS took the opportunity to remember that a new program against corruption has been promoted. Recruitment process will be carried out openly to avoid irregularities.

Espinosa reported that by the end of this year the first IESS Pediatric Hospital will be built and that in the last months of the current year the new Hospital de Manta will be opened. There will also be hospitals in Orellana, Cayambe and other cities, which would mean a $ 1 billion investment. (I)
