The Legislative bloc of Alianza PAIS paves the way to analyze the scope of a possible referendum call, a week after the opposition sectors raised their proposals.
Yesterday afternoon, the legislators had a meeting to discuss this point. The possibility that this project thrives is not based on the demands of the opposition, “but based on an analysis and, above all, of the questions to be asked to the citizens,” said PAIS legislator Franklin Samaniego.
According to the legislator, the proposal was quickly outlined during a previous meeting with some lawmakers and President Moreno last Friday in Guayaquil.
Last Monday the President said during his weekly address: “If anyone wanted to obstruct the truth or endanger the institutionality of our country, I would not hesitate for a single minute to resort to the will and voice of the people.” Samaniego said that there are two issues the Head of State is analyzing: the strengthening the country’s institutions and the consolidation of justice independence.
