The remains of Chucho Benitez will come in a private plane

The President of  Ecuador’s soccer Federation (FEF), Luis Chiriboga, said that along with the sports Ministry, in charge of José Cevallos, hired a private plane to repatriate the mortal remains of Christian “chucho” Benítez, who died in Qatar.

Everything is arranged to repatriate the remains of Chucho Benitez in the company of his family”, said Chiriboga, who thanked the directors of the Mexican team America for the efforts that would be made to repatriate the mortal remains of Benitez, former player of the club, to that country but stressed that his body will return to Ecuador.

He said that “The Main court of the selection Stadium”  will bear the name of Christian “chucho” Benítez.

Moreover, Liseth Chalá, Christian Benítez’s widow, told how  the scorer of the Ecuadorian team died to the sports network  ESPN, in Doha, Qatar. SHe said that the athlete began to suffer abdominal pain, around 20:30 hours in Qatar on Sunday, at the hotel, and were transfered to a hospital.

She added that he were didn’t receive proper medical attention for two hours and Benitez  couldn’t stand the abdominal pain, so “after suffering a lot, the player realized that he could die, so he said goodbyr to her and asked her to take  care of their children”.

“Moments later, Benitez, began to convulse and,  unfortunately, lost his life”, concluded.
