The Revocation of 11 Local Authorities is Decided Today

The election campaign of revocations ended on Thursday. Today from 07:00 until 17:00, inhabitants of five jurisdictions decide the fate of 11 local authorities–whose revocations were ordered–at the polls.

In this third process of revocation, the resignation of Miguel Achi, mayor of Playas county (province of Guayas) and Víctor Hugo Tinoco, mayor of Puyango county (province of Loja) is being called. In addition the resignation of two municipal councilors from Puyango, Loja is also being called: José Prado and Enrique Ayala.

Seven members of parish councils in rural areas join the revocation list: The president of the Vestry of Orianga, Palta county (Loja), Jose Alejandro Pinza (PAIS), the member of the Vestry of Valle Hermoso, José Leiton Benavides (PAIS), In Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, five members of the Vestry of Salima, Muisne county in the province of Esmeraldas: Chairwoman Rosa Guerrero (PAIS), and members Yenit Cotera (PSP), Javier Gudino (MIN) Rocío Satizabal (PAIS) and Mario Rodriguez (PRE).

As indicated by the chairman of National Electoral Council (CNE), Omar Simon, the fourth process of revocation of seven other officials will be held on March 20th.
