Taxpayers will be able to pay the Rise tax with electronic money.

Taxpayers will be able to pay the Rise tax with electronic money.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS for its Spanish acronym) announced yesterday that taxes generated by the Ecuadorian Simplified Tax Regime (RISE) will be paid with electronic money. This is the first initiative to pay taxes through this online mean. The SRI reported that the option is already enabled on its website www.sri.gob.ec.

Anyone who decides to pay the charges should enter the ‘Tax payments’ option, then the ‘Electronic money’ option and complete the data. The screen will show the amount to be paid, users shall enter the cell number and identity card to pay. Finally, the voucher will be generated. Refills of electronic money are made in authorized premises by the Central Bank of Ecuador. (I)
