The vocation of the Guayaquil economy moves between two occupations: industry and commerce. These are the two branches that generated more dollars in a city that built a mountain of nearly 20 billion dollars during the fiscal year 2014.
Professional and real estate activities, construction and transportation, information and communications continue in the ranking of the quintet of areas with greater weight in Guayaquil, according to a report on cantonal national accounts published by the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE for its Spanish acronym).
Quito is the economy with the largest size among the cities: 22.851 million dollars. According to the latest study disaggregated by cities, its economic heart beats among professional, real estate, manufacturing, construction, public administration and trade activities.
