The most famous film festival in the world, the Cannes Festival in France, ended with delivery of the prize the Palme d’Or to “The tree of life,” an epic film starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, from the American director Terrence Malik.
Malik was not there to receive the most precious prize of the festival, but one of his producers said the director was absolutely thrilled.
Robert DeNiro, who was one of the judges of the festival, said it was difficult to pick a winner this year because of the excellent films that were presented.
Kirsten Dunst won the award for best actress for her role in Blues, a story about the end of the world directed by Danish director Lars Von Trier.
