The U.S. is victim of severe snow and wind storms
The strong winter storms that have hit the United States have increased in recent days, bringing heavy snow and glacier winds, affecting especially the Northeast.
In New York, it is expected more than 20 inches of snow and up to 50 mph of freezing winds, with temperatures of up to -12 degrees Celsius, and the wind chill temperature could reach -23°C. The National Weather Service announced the alerts for strong winter storms stretching from Chicago to New York, most of New England, and even the capital Washington.
As a result, about 2,200 flights have been canceled and rescheduled, according to the air travel tracking system FlightAware.
The mid-west of the country also was affected by the cancellation of flights at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, due to the heavy snow.
