The United States is interested in investing in Ecuador’s coffee and cocoa market
MOCCA, a project funded by the US Department of Agriculture, specifically the Food for Progress program (USDA), will benefit coffee and cocoa ecuadorian farmers.
The MOCCA Program is planned to be implemented in six countries where more than 750,000 producers grow these products. MOCCA will provide assistance to producers to overcome the barriers that limit their ability to renew and rehabilitate their plants.
This seeks to promote the increase in their yields, improve their marketing capacity, income and livelihoods in these value chains.
In the case of cocoa, this initiative will be timely to strengthen its production nationwide, but in the case of coffee, it will mean an opportunity to reactivate the crops that have been lost in recent years, due to a price crisis.
The execution of this plan will be carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the US Embassy.
