Posted On 14 Feb 2014
The National Guard of Venezuela visited the main ports and airports of the country to arrange the arrest warrant issued by a court against the opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez.
Last night President Nicolas Maduro confirmed that the government is pursuing Lopez.
“Soon he will have to face prison for his crimes. Be it wit rain or storms the fascist fugitive will go to jail,” said the president without mentioning him by name in a broadcast message for the whole country.
Meanwhile, Carlos Vecchio, one of the leaders of the opposition reported that Lopez was at home in the company of his lawyers.
The government blames Lopez of the violent demonstrations carried out by the opposition during last Wednesday in Caracas, which left three people dead.
