The three Ecuadorian migrants had been kidnapped by gangs operating in Chiapas, Mexico. Three other compatriots were injured.

A new violent incident leaves Ecuadorian migrants murdered in Mexico. This time it is about three compatriots, who were kidnapped in a building in Chiapas, Mexico, reported the organization 1-800 Migrante, this March 7
According to information from the NGO, the Ecuadorians, two men and a woman, were in a ranch in the municipality of Tapachula, in the state of Chiapas, along with other travelers of different nationalities.
The execution of the compatriots occurred when the Mexican Investigative Police were carrying out a rescue operation in the house.
Upon arriving at the scene, the agents were greeted with gunfire from the gang of kidnappers, for which additional support was requested from the Mexican Army and the National Guard.
In addition, there is a fourth victim, who would be one of the kidnappers present in the house.
The NGO reported three other injured Ecuadorians, between 39 and 49 years old, who were rescued and taken to hospitals in Chiapas.
On the other hand, this is not the only rescue of migrants kidnapped in Mexico. Last January 2024, the Army in Sonora freed 20 travelers in Tamaulipas, and three were Ecuadorians.
