Today the moon will be closer to the earth
Posted On 23 Jun 2013
At 19:00 is the most recommended time to watch this spectacle, that can be observed by the world and one that shows the moon larger and brighter than usual, since it will be at its closer point to Earth tonight when millions of people will try to get photos and admire this beautiful astronomical phenomenon.
Supermoon, as it is called the event, occurs when this satellite is the closest to the Earth (about 356 thousand km). In contrast to this planet, the Moon’s orbit is not circular. It has an eliptical shape, so there are times that is far away (apogee) or close (perigee).
Amateur astronomers, photographers and fans are planning meetings and observations to admire the full moon tonight.
