Jan Topic, former presidential candidate in 2023, distanced himself from the Social Christian Party (PSC), a political organization that supported his electoral contest, ahead of the next elections in 2025.
Topic thanked Jaime Nebot for the praise he gave him during a television interview, when he indicated that he could be a presidential candidate again through the PSC. However, he noted that he will focus on Transforma, his political initiative.
In a post made on his X account, he thanked the PSC – List 6 rank and file for support, and Christian Social leader Jaime Nebot, who praised him yesterday in a television interview.
« Topic is a man who is an expert in security and also has the courage to implement a drastic measure, within the law of course, to put an end to crime. “He is a person who knows economics who knows public and private finance,” said Nebot.
There Nebot said he indicated that he met with Topic this week to discuss a new application for the Carondelet Palace. “He has been clear in his willingness to serve the country through a presidential candidacy,” he said.
However, Topic indicated that its political initiative, called Transforma, “is not a marketing stunt.” He insisted that his objective is “to achieve a real transformation both at the national level, at the macro level, and in politics, at the micro level.”
He stated that in this way it can be guaranteed that the best talent will have the chance to lead the transformation of Ecuador.
«From candidates for members in parish councils to the presidency of the Republic. All parties interested in being part of this change are welcome, as long as they are willing to adopt the principles of decentralization, transparency and activism that we promote,” he noted.
