Two missing young Shuar men are found dead

Twelve days after their disappearance, the lifeless bodies of two teenagers of Shuar Nationality, Gyru Tzamarenda, and his cousin Klinger Wajuyata, were found last Saturday. The fact was reported from the 16 de Agosto parish, in the Palora County, in the province of Morona Santiago.
Preliminary information indicates that the corpses were buried a meter and a half below ground in the back of the ‘Finca de la Selva’ discotheque, located in El Rosario district. The Prosecutor´s office has not yet reported on the circumstances of the finding.
The bodies of the victims that were admitted to the Forensic Investigation Center of Cuenca, “apparently showed signs of violence,” according to one of the police agents.
Family members had reported that the youths were last seen on Monday, February 27, riding a motorbike along the bridge over the Pastaza River. Since then, no one knew of their whereabouts. Until yesterday, the police did not report if there are detainees.
