U.S. Ambassador Arrived to Ecuador
Adam Namm, a career diplomat of the State Department, arrived in the country just after 18:30 yesterday. After passing through the airport’s diplomatic filters, the new representative of President Barack Obama, delivered a message to the country.
Namm said he was happy to be in the country and announced that he will work to strengthen the relationship, affected last year by the reciprocal expulsion of ambassadors in Quito and Washington.
However, Namm will only be able to fully meet his duties after being formally submitted to national authorities. He must first submit a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister and then deliver his credentials to president Rafael Correa.
The dates for these ceremonies are still to be set by the Ecuadorian government. (MZ)
