United States Pressures Egypt for Power Transfer
Egyptian demonstrations have taken a new turn, now the mass of protesters has moved to the centre of Cairo to show their contempt towards the Military Board that rules the country.
With a death toll of 40 casualties, the political situation of the Military Board worsens. Now for the first time the United States government allied himself with the opposition, the demonstrators in Tahrir Square.
The Obama administration believes that “for a complete transfer of power to a Civilian Government it must be fair and that truthfully answers the aspirations of the Egyptian people as soon as possible.”
Hassan Chafie, the maximum religious authority of the country added from Tahrir that the demonstrators will not stop until their demands are met. (AV)
