The elected vice president of Ecuador, Verónica Abad, was present at the Miss Universe 2023 contest gala that took place in El Salvador, on the night of November 18, 2023.

Abad herself recorded her visit to the event on her social network X. There she published photos with the Ecuadorian representative, Delary Stoffers, and with the Nicaraguan Sheynnis Palacios, who took the crown.

“Thank you for representing our country, you were amazing, together we will work for those who need us most,” Abad said in one of the photos with Miss Ecuador.

While in the image with Palacios he said: “Wonderful women with their gifts and good hearts can make dreams come true in each of our countries. From the Vice Presidency of Ecuador we will promote a social vision with purpose, that is why we are here, learning from success stories in the world.”

According to the vice president-elect, her presence in the Central American country responds to her intention to “learn about the great social work that exists behind the Miss Universe beauty pageant , which after 72 years captures the essence, charisma and solidarity of the women of the world.”

Abad will be sworn in as vice president of Ecuador on November 23, 2023, along with the president-elect, Daniel Noboa.
