Vito Muñoz: “10 days in prison does not erase 10 years of insults”

Posted On 10 May 2019

Ecuadornews:

After a judicial process, the communicator managed to have Hannibal Vela sentenced to 10 days in prison for constant verbal aggressions.

They ended the patience of the businessman and communicator Vito Muñoz. The constant attacks he received from Hannibal Vela through social networks made him go to the legal body.

After the judicial process, he was sentenced to prison for 10 days to Vela. EXPRESO contacted the businessman for an interview of the case and revealed the following:

Mr. Vela won the suit. Do you think that this marked a precedent in journalism?

A lawsuit is not a football match where the plaintiff or defendant wins, but a sanction through which justice claims moral damage that tried to cause grotesque, insulting and inappropriate expressions towards the dignity of a human being and his family.

Do you feel that this time if rights were asserted before the law?

The sanction says it all and I think that in the end that person took it cheap because all the tests that were presented, was for at least for the month of jail, which is the maximum time for a contravention.

Do you think that the 10 days granted to Vela are the just ones?

I think that not even the 30 days that he had been given justifies the vulgar, vulgar insults of those who have exercised this career with a libertine language, and to which no one had sent him to the place where justice has done it today.

How long did this process last? Did you feel the support of your colleagues in the media?

I concentrated with my lawyer, Dr. Carlos Luis Sánchez and we prepared to show the evidence, this is not a matter of journalism, but a legal issue and I like to face things only, because in addition the media does not support, what they do is stoke the fire and I do not lend myself to that, I needed to be with my head cold to get justice done.

Do you think that with this action the hints and offenses that Vela did for 10 years are over?

The fact that justice sanctions him with 10 days in prison, is a moral and exemplary sanction, he has not lost his freedom because he will continue saying the same thing. What he lives is imprisoned by his human condition and that will never be released, plus 10 days in prison does not erase 10 years of insults.

What is your opinion about those people who use the media to offend others?

It is the lack of resources, because they are puppets of interested people who do not have the humility to accept criticism and who are looking for mercenaries to use against people who do not applaud their unfortunate and immoral management directive. (I)
