The National Bureau of Alianza Pais and its directors in Guayas continue insisting to appoint the current Governor of Guayas, Viviana Bonilla as candidate for major of Guayaquil.
“(I want to) say clearly that our candidate for mayor is the current Governor Viviana Bonilla”, said the Director of AP in Guayas, Maria de los Angeles Duarte, during an act of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, that she runs.
However, while Duarte confirmed the nomination of Bonilla, a group that claims to be part of the directory of AP in Guayas expressed their public support for the candidacy of Balerio Estacio for mayor of Guayaquil.
Estacio was accompanied by around 70 persons during the press conference, where he thanked them and said he was willing to collaborate in that office, in a Council Office or in the Prefecture of Guayas.
For his part, Duarte said that Estacio is considered a traitor for “the issue of the invasions”, while Estacio replied that justice acquitted him of the crime of trafficking of land.On
October 9 during the solemn session of the Municipality of Guayaquil, Mayor Jaime Nebot accepted officially to run for re-election for Mayor of the city, sponsored by the Social Cristiano political party and Madera de Guerrero movement.
