With agreements, Government gives time to import
For the purpose of supplementing the imports, the Ecuadorian Government has signed 48 agreements between sectors and companies, so that they can adapt to the new regulations.
“We have signed with soap companies, fast food, home appliances and there are some that are waiting,” said yesterday Industries Minister Ramiro González.
In December 2013, the State issued some regulations that require the presentation of quality certificates for different products. Adaptation to the regulations, expected to take between 90 and 180 days maximum, depends on each case. However, many importing companies demonstrated various complications to fulfill them.
Gonzalez said that they notified it to the Ecuadorian Institute for Standardization (INEN) and to customs, for the granting o the permissions for the correct entry of the merchandise.
