With faith and humility Francisco began his pontificate
Yesterday, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francisco, began his pontificate and did so with atypical actions: he stopped at his hotel in Rome and paid the bill for his stay, and finally called on all parishioners to reconstruct the Church.
The Supreme Pontiff began the day with a scale in the Roman basilica of Santa María la Mayor to pray before the image of the Virgin. The night before, after having been chosen, he did not use the automobile of the Vatican and left along with the other Cardinals in a bus.
In a simple and friendly homily, Bergoglio established a clear moral path for the Church. He said that it should be more focused in the Gospels of Jesus Christ. “We can walk all that we want, we can build many things, but if we don’t proclaim Jesus Christ, something is wrong. We would turn into a pious NGO and not in a church that is the bride of Christ”, said Francisco.
