Yoani Sanchez, recognized Cuban journalist and author of the blog Generation Y, held a press conference at the headquarters of the United Nations and asked the organism, together with other international entities to recognize the Government of cuba as a dictatorship.
“Now is the time for the international entities to wake up from its long lethargy regarding their relation with the government of Cuba and begin to recognize it for what it is, a dictatorship,” stated Sanchez.
The press conference offered by the Cuban dissident, invited by the Press Association of correspondents before the UN (UNCA), had to be held finally in a corridor due to the opposition from the Cuban Government, which sent a letter of complaint to the Organization, so the press conference won’t be held at the official press room.
